The miracle of hearing…

I have experienced a lifetime of hearing related issues and for most of that time I suffered in silence. It’s only been over the last ten years that I have found doctors that have been able to identify and albeit temporarily at times resolved my hearing loss. The fall of 2015 after a long battle with ear infections and a cholesteotoma in my left ear I had surgery for the first time and my brilliant doctor replaced the bones of my inner ear with a prosthesis which allowed be the best hearing in my left ear of my memorable life. For the following year plus, I listened with pleasure as I heard the laghter and crying of my beautiful granddaughters, enjoyed the amazing tunes of gong bathes both as a participant and player and have come to marvel in the healing properties of the Tibetan singing bowls that I play during the deep relaxation at the end of each Kundalini Yoga class I teach on Monday evenings. In December of 2016 I got a severe cold that resulted in a fifty percent loss of hearing in both ears, negative pressure in my left ear endangering the prosthetic and a blow out of my right ear that requires reconstructive surgery to repair it.
Today, I anticipate awaking in the late morning to the wonderful face of my wife after a fully successful surgery. I can’t wait to have to opportunity to think, my grandchildren should keep down the noise for the neighbors but not really care and again hear the sounds of the ocean…

Question of the day:

When the Trump Administration officially identifies the Native American People and those Protestors who “Stand” with them, as Terrorists for their interference with pipeline construction, which side will you stand on? “We The People” or “The Corporation”?

Introduction to Soul Clann

Sat Nam and thank you for stopping in to check out Soul Clann and our blog where we will share our thoughts on yogic lifestyle, travel, holistic living, Kundalini Yoga, meditation, sound healing and whatever else brightens our path.

Soul Clann as an entity, is a long time in the making. It originally came to me as a young man, when I had a dream of bringing together group of individuals that collectively could make a difference in the world, through their support of each other and the environment in which we live. It wasn’t until the halfway point in my Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training that I finally decided to make my dream a reality and Soul Clann was born. I began talking about the idea with fellow classmates and began developing a program around it. Although it is first and foremost about a community, my wife Amy and I decided in June 2016 to use it as a platform to launch our yoga business and website, where you can find out where we are holding classes and events. In the coming months we will be expanding our services to include: private Kundalini Yoga Instruction, Meditation and Sound Healing which can be One on One or in group settings. We will also be teaming up with other colleagues for public Sound Healing and Gong Baths, so check back often to see what we are up to.

Soul Clann is represented and managed by the founders, Chris and Amy Wood. However, there are many other yogis that contribute to the community by participating or practicing, teaching, following and/or volunteering with our classes and events as we continue to grow through the wonders of Kundalini Yoga, Meditation, Reiki, Sound Healing, Group Consciousness and the addition of new Souls. Currently, we hold classes at the School of Multidimensional Healing Arts and Sciences each Monday 7-9pm in Irvine, California. You can RSVP via Meetup at meetup.com/SoulClann or just come on down the day of class. All experience levels are welcome. In the meantime you can follow us on FaceBook, Instagram, Twitter, Meetup and Tumblr.

In addition to our classes and events, we will be sharing our travels throughout the country with the community. Specifically, we will be sharing how we maintain our yogic lifestyle on the road, the journey from place to place and the amazing locations we end up. In our little community of friends Amy and I have become the couple that is followed to see where they will end up next and for several years now many have watched our adventure unfold. Now we will be sharing that adventure with this new community as well. Our adventures have taken us to some far off places on planned excursions and some occasional trips on a whim. We have been known to get in the car on a afternoon to go out for bite of dinner and end up camping in Joshua Tree National Park for a few days in August, simply because we saw a sign, “Joshua Tree 93 miles.” So many have enjoyed our pictures, sudden twists (read “what is at the next exit?”) and the crazy places we end up. They have followed along as we have gone harbor hopping along the Pacific Coast, Snapped Pics of our Las Vegas Drive-by while searching for a good cup of coffee (Dutch Bros) or our San Francisco Bridge Sunrise on $50 Adventure. This seems like a great lead-in to what we are just finishing up prep on today.

We are taking two weeks off from teaching and working to tackle a grand adventure. Come back tomorrow to find our more about this years escapade. #YogicJourneyandWildGooseAdventure

Class will still be held in our absence each Monday 7-9pm, led Deb Parker or Dev Shabad Singh, Soul Clann Members and Amazing Teachers. If you are moved to begin your journey into Kundalini Yoga and Meditation with us come on down and check it out.
